Although I was working while in the states, I managed to have a little bit of fun with the girls on our annual outing to the National Western Stock Show in Denver, Colorado.

What happens in Denver stays in Denver, so I won’t be sharing many details but I think these photos will speak for themselves. Here we are standing in front of one of those photo back drops that makes it look like we’re in a bar.

Here’s another one of the back drops we could choose from, this one included cardboard cutout men.

Melanie got a welcome back to Denver hug from our friend Tom.

and so did I.

My friend Beka stopped in, to say hello.

We had lunch with our friend Mark.

Mary broke this guys heart by refusing a dance.

She said yes to this guy, but lived to regret her decision.

We had a drink, or 12 with our Canadian friends.

We even left the yard bar on a couple of occasions.

Heck – we even went to the rodeo one night as guests of the Canadian consulate. It’s good to have friends in high places.

A Good Time was had by all.

A very wise woman once told me that life is about the story we tell at the end of the chapter. If statistics are to be believed, I’m closer to the end of my life than the beginning. I’ve quit the race to see who can have the office with best view or the most impressive job title. I’ve made peace with the fact there are some of my early dreams/goals that will never be realized. I love who I am and the women I have become AND boy do I have stories to tell!
